We sweep all standard open fires as well as log burning stoves, lined or unlined, a smoke draw test is carried out after every sweep.

 

Having Your Chimney Swept

Having your chimney swept regularly is important, not just for cleaning but also to make sure there are no obstructions causing a partial blockage, such as a birds nest, as this can lead to a leakage of dangerous carbon monoxide gasses into the room.

As well as traditional sweeping using rods and brushes, we have recently started using power sweeping methods with equipment from Rodtech UK.

Power sweeping methods have been increasing throughout the UK and have been shown to be a very quick and efficient method of sweeping both open fires and log burning stoves, both with and without stainless steel flu liners without damage, as well as sweeping we also remove birds nest's.

Before commencing work we will lay sheets on the floor, and completely seal the fire place to eliminate any soot from entering the room, after sweeping we clean your fire place and use a special vacuum with HEPA filters to clean up the remains of any soot from the grate.

Finally a smoke draw test is carried out.
