Why Have your Chimney Swept

Don't wait until your chimney looks like the one In the above photo, there is an increased possibility of a chimney fire .

 

Birds nests are another problem, birds can sometimes be heard chirping around the chimney.

If the fire is not drawing very well or there is a smell of smoke in the room, or you suspect there may be

a nest, check inside the chimney if there are any twigs you may have a nest.

The nest is removed using special hooks and rods, pulling the nest down a bit at a time.

There can often be many feet of nest material and may fill as much as 2 or 3 sacks of

twigs, earth, and other muck, It's a dirty job, and can be quite time consuming.

 

It can not be overstressed to have your chimney checked for any blockages or obstructions

which could lead to dangerous carbon monoxide gasses entering the room.
